Dear Patient,

Recently, Abington Hospital-Lansdale, the former Central Montgomery Medical Center, discontinued obstetrical care for financial reasons.  This has left many patients in the North Penn community, as well as their obstetricians, scrambling to choose a hospital for the delivery of their obstetrical care.

We are pleased to inform you that the physicians of The Center for Women's Health of Lansdale, Robert J. Filosa, M.D., Dipti Shah-Parikh, M.D., and Donald J. De Brakeleer, D.O., have chosen to join the Medical Staff of Grand View Hospital in order to continue to care for their current and future obstetrical patients.  We believe that the addition of this group will be beneficial to the Hospital as well as our community.

After much discussion and careful consideration among the physicians and staff of Stoneridge Ob/Gyn and The Center for Women's Health, our practices have decided to work together in the delivery of after-hours care to our patients.  In a reciprocal and rotating basis, our groups will be sharing weekend and holiday call.  The physicians of Stoneridge Ob/Gyn will continue to take call for our practice weeknights and for 5 out of every 8 weekends, while the physicians from The Center for Women's Health will cover our practice for the remaining 3 of 8 weekends.  Thus, if you deliver or otherwise require obstetrical or gynecological care on the weekend, you may be attended by one of the physicians of The Center for Women’s Health instead of a Stoneridge physician.

We understand that this decision may cause you some concern.  However, given the stressful nature of obstetrical practice, we believe that this arrangement will be beneficial for the longevity of our physicians, and will help to ensure that we are able to provide excellent care for our patients well into the future.

We encourage you to discuss any concerns that you may have with your physician at your next visit.

Sincerely,

The Physicians of Stoneridge Obstetrics and Gynecology
